Free Teertha Yatra for Sr Citizens in Madhya Pradesh

TEERTHA YATRA

In the beginning of the current month, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had organised Senior Citizens' Panchayat at Bhopal and therein announced that the State Government will extend financial assistance to senior citizens above 60 years of age for Teerth Yatra (pilgrimage journey). Besides, an assistant can also accompany a senior citizen above 65 years of age in the journey on Government expenses.


The State Government has declared Religious Trusts and Endowments Department as the nodal agency for this scheme. Senior citizens of the State can undertake pilgrimage journey on Government expenses to Badrinath, Kedernath, Jagannath Dham, Dwarika, Hairdwar, Amarnath, Vaishno Devi, Kashi, Tirupati, Ajmer Sharif, Gaya, Rameshwaram, Amritsar or Sammed Shikhar.
