DETAILS OF WORKSHOP
SANATANA DHARMA'S SOCIO-POLITICAL VISION
OBJECTIVE
Politics today invades our homes and affects all aspects of our lives. From the air we breathe, the education we are able to provide our children, and the society we live in – the future of all of these is determined by the underlying vision that drives the political structures today. Given the circumstances of today's world, it is now more then ever that we need to honestly evaluate these political and social systems, and critique their underlying vision based on the cherished ideals of our Sanatana Dharma. But, what is the vision of Rajatantra in our Sanatana Dharma? What is it based on? This two-day free workshop by Acharya Ravindra brings together and presents the driving vision of all Indian thinking on Rajadharma from various Indian textual sources:Rgveda and Yajurveda Samhitas, Satapatha Brahmana, Darsanas sastras, Ramayana, Mahabharata (Shanti, Udyoga and Sabha parvas), Manusmriti, and Kautilya's Arthashastra. The workshop provides a glimpse into the depth of thinking on the subject of political governance by our Rsis.

SINGAPORE: A new PAssion card exclusive to seniors will be issued free to all Singaporean citizens aged 60 years and above from Monday (Dec 5) onwards.

Currently, the PAssion ez-link card has no minimum age for its eligibility criteria, meaning everyone, including seniors, has to pay up to S$12 in order to enjoy its benefits.

With the new PAssion Silver Concession Card, Singaporeans aged 60 and above will be able to enjoy the card's benefits as well as additional benefits exclusive to the card for free. It offers senior citizen concessionary fares on public transport, a suite of merchant benefits and privileges, as well as access to a range of courses and activities offered by the People's Association (PA).

The card merges the existing senior citizen concession card and PAssion card to make it more convenient for seniors to stay active and engaged in the community, according to a joint press release by the Ministry of Health, PA and the Ministry of Transport.

Eligible Singapore citizens who do not currently hold a Senior Citizen Concession Card will receive a letter by Jan 31, 2017, inviting them to submit their photograph so that they can receive the card.

From Monday, the PAssion Silver Concession Card will be mailed in batches to the registered home addresses of Singaporean citizens who are existing senior citizen concession cardholders.

The new PAssion card was jointly launched by Health Minister Gan Kim Yong and Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Chan Chun Sing, as well as Mrs Josephine Teo, Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Transport on Sunday.
