To facilitate senior citizens, the Haryana government has decided to allow a concession of 50 per cent in the fares of state roadways buses to any destination, including those in other states. At a meeting held here, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar also directed the officers to abolish bus pass service for Haryana Roadways for the staff of the chief minister and other ministers working in the Haryana civil secretariat, an official release said. "Passengers availing any concession in the fare of Haryana Roadways buses will have to procure e-ticket through Aadhaar-based biometric identification. This will ensure that the facilities are not misused. This scheme will be implemented within the next four months," an official release said. The decision was mentioned at a meeting of the transport department presided over by Khattar here today, it said.
Transport minister Krishan Lal Panwar was also present in the meeting, the release said. The chief minister said that while 50 per cent concession in fare was already being given to men aged 65 years and above and women aged 60 years and above for intra-state travel in the buses of Haryana Roadways, this facility would now be extended to include inter-state travel. He directed the officers to issue a notification to this effect at the earliest. He also directed the appointment of drivers and conductors in Haryana Roadways buses through outsourcing until recruitment is carried out, so that all routes may be covered.

Ola To Offer 20 Percent Discount To Senior Citizens - DriveSpark

Why not Hyderabad? I am peeved though I prefer Uber to OLA. Uber GPS is  reliable and OLA Autos are almost never available. What is your experience?
If I have time to explore, then if uber is costly then I try OLA. UberPool is cheaper than autos.

App-based cab aggregator Ola has announced the expansion of its unique
initiative 'Senior Citizen Mobility Program' in Nagpur and three other cities.
Ola's initiative aims at making mobility more affordable to the elderly. The senior citizens (60 years and above) who register for this program will get 20 percent discount on their first ten rides every month.

Apart from that, the first ten Ola auto rides can be availed at a discount of 15 percent. The discount scheme is currently available in Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Indore, Bhopal, Mumbai and Pune.

Associate Director (Operations) of Ola, Kiran Brahma said, "At Ola, we want to make mobility convenient and hassle-free for all. Senior citizens represent a group of individuals who have served the nation well."

To avail the discount, the senior citizens should register online through a link. They also need to submit the proof of identity and age. After the verification, the senior citizens can start taking Ola rides.

We have seen government transport offering discounts to senior citizens. But very rarely we see a private firm taking up such an initiative. It's good to see that ride-hailing companies are concerned about the senior citizens of the country.
