Free daycare home for elders opens in city

Mysuru: The department of welfare for disabled and senior citizens launched a free daycare home for senior citizens at Kuvempunagar on Friday.
The department, in association with Green Rural Development and Training Centre, has set up the home. The present accommodation (50 members per day) will be increased in the coming days. Four personnel deputed in the centre will attend to the needs of the inmates, while two nurses will take care of their health. Two more will prepare food.

Green Rural Development and Training Centre secretary Mahadeva Swamy said that senior citizens can spend time with people of their age. "Kannada and English newspapers, indoor games, and TV will keep them engaged. Midday meal will also be served to for free," he added.
Age proof document is enough for registration. It is completely free.
